
WHY SHOULD I CONVERT MY VIDEO FOOTAGE TO DVD?
Magnetic tapes deteriorate with age, heat and use. The footage becomes grainy, the colour fades and the tape stretches. Digital technology is far more durable and reliable than old magnetic tapes.
HOW MANY HOURS CAN I PUT ON A DVD?
We prefer not to exceed 2 hours per DVD for quality reasons and Hi Fi player compatibility.
DO YOU LOSE QUALITY WITH THE CONVERSION FROM VIDEO TAPE TO DVD?
The conversion is done on PCs using professional packages; we therefore ensure the highest possible quality.
DOES THE CONVERSION PROCESS ENHANCE THE VIDEO QUALITY?
No, it only duplicates the video quality.
CAN I VIEW THE DVDs OVERSEAS?
ZONE - We do not zone our DVDs and they can therefore be viewed in any country.
COLOUR SYSTEMS - Most modern DVD players and TV systems can view Pal, NTSC, and SECAM colour systems. Unless otherwise specified we will use the Pal colour system.
WHAT IS THE LIFESPAN OF A DVD?
If a DVD is taken care of, the lifespan is documented at 100 years.
CAN I ADD MORE INFORMATION ONTO MY DVD AT A LATER STAGE?
No, we use write once only discs and the discs can therefore not be re-written.
CAN I EDIT THESE DVD DISCS?
If your computer hardware complies with the minimum system requirements and your software can import MPEG 2 VOB files, then yes you can edit the DVD.
If, however, you cannot import the MPEG 2 VOB files we can supply MPEG 2 data files.
These MPEG 2 data files are viewable on all computers but not on HiFi systems.
WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN A CD AND A DVD?
DVDs store more information than CDs.
Generally DVDs are for video and CDs are for audio.
IF MY LP IS DAMAGED, CAN I STILL CONVERT IT TO DVD?
All records are cleaned with a special fluid before converting, but major scratches might still be heard on the CD.
CAN YOU REPAIR MY BROKEN VIDEO?
Yes we can repair broken video tape housings and tapes.
WILL I GET MY ORIGINAL VIDEOS, RECORDS OR TAPES BACK?
Yes, in exactly the same condition that they were supplied to us.
